Competitors

You will have heard how successful our championships were in sunny Spain we all stayed in the Barceló Beach Resort oodles of food, free wine, water and beer with the meals. There were about 1000 competitors and England again took a good crop of the medals.

For the first time ever the WKA will be holding their championships in the UK with Edinburgh Scotland as the venue. The world famous “Meadowbank Stadium” will be the sports venue with the City of Edinburgh and Event Scotland supporting the event in October.

The UK and Ireland will in the majority be travelling by coach and accommodation has been reserved in properties ranging from 2,3 & 4* hotels, Youth Hostels and caravan sites depending on your own budget with transport laid-on.

In these times of financial hardships this championships won’t break the bank.

Edinburgh is a beautiful capital city with the castle illuminated at night and many attractions available including tours of the High Lands, Lakes, Salmon Ladder and Distilleries.

We plan to hold the opening ceremony in the castle grounds and march out off the castle with Pipers playing. This is not to be missed!

The 2nd WKA Traditional Karate Championships will be held at the
Stockland Green Leisure Centre
Slade Road, Erdington Birmingham  B23 7JH
It is open to all Traditional Karatekas Kumite/kata/team kata /Traditional Karate Weapons and
 veterans.
